Agadir’s Bird Valley Renovation: Major Tourist Attraction Set for 2024 Reopening

As part of its Urban Development Plan, Agadir is renovating the Bird Valley, a recreational and educational space. Located in the tourist center of the city, the facility will open its doors at the end of 2024.
For this project, the Souss-Massa Regional Tourist Development Company (SDRT) has launched a study related to the exploitation and management strategy, as well as the upgrading of the site, reports Les Inspirations Eco, specifying that "the estimated cost of the study, whose bid opening session is scheduled from September 29, 2022, has been set at 1 MDH. The study will be carried out within a maximum overall period of 4 months."
With a total investment of 58 million dirhams, the Bird Valley is located in the tourist center of the seaside resort of Agadir, at the intersection of three main arteries of the city center, between Avenues Hassan II, Mohammed V and August 20, with two main facades, one on the corniche side and the other on the city side.
More specifically, the space will consist of four lakes and waterfalls, two large aviaries (African and American), two cafes, south and north of the park, as well as a 900 m² technical building and lodges for 500 animals of 69 different species. The site used to have more than 500 bird species and nearly fifty other animals from different continents, the newspaper points out.
