Agadir to Open Safari-Style Lion Park for Tourists

The city of Agadir will soon host a "Lion Park". It will be located on several hectares of land to allow tourists to admire lions in the wild. The project was launched by Hakim Abdel Hafid, a Moroccan with extensive experience in this type of park in South Africa.
Located at the exit of Agadir in the commune of Drarga, the Lion Park will allow visitors to observe the lions by driving through a specially designed circuit with their cars. The purpose of this type of park is to give visitors the chance to live an enriching and unforgettable adventure, Challenge reports.
Behind this project is Hakim Abdel Hafid, a biologist by training. This Moroccan has long worked in two reserves in South Africa as the person in charge of lion breeding. Through experience, he has become the owner of a private park and intends to put his expertise at the service of his country.
Baptized "The Lion Park of Drarka", the construction work of the park, whose permit was issued on March 14, 2021, has started for a month. On the 20 hectares, there will be a restaurant, sanitary facilities for passing visitors, a mosque, about twenty eco-lodges adjoining a swimming pool and intended for people wishing to extend their visits, a care area is planned for the animals. There will also be a first area dedicated to visitors to observe the African lions, a second for the white lions, and a third area reserved for the Barbary lions.
In a first phase, the Drarga Lion Park will welcome 45 lions from Hakim Abdel Hafid’s South African reserve. 20 more will be added.
