Monday 1 July 2019, by
This Thursday, June 27, 2019, the opening of the 3rd annual "Women In Africa" (WIA) summit brought together nearly 500 people in Marrakech, including economic, governmental and cultural leaders from several nationalities. This meeting included several delegations of women from the Middle East, the United States and Asia, as well as 54 participants from the African continent.
Under the theme, "How are African women engaging the world and creating a new paradigm?", this meeting aims to contribute to strengthening the leadership of African women in all areas of activity and to promoting their role in the development of their countries and the continent, through reflections and concrete proposals.
For two days, the topics related to the role of African women in the world, namely "The place of women in the fight against climate change", "Preparing the next generation of innovative girls for the jobs of tomorrow", "Corruption and its considerable contribution to the emancipation and development of their continent", were at the heart of the discussions at this meeting, marked by other parallel events.
It should be recalled that the "WIA 54" program, rewarding 54 high-potential African women entrepreneurs who are building the Africa of tomorrow, held its 2nd edition at this summit.
Launched in 2017, the WIA initiative is an international platform for economic development and support for high-potential African women leaders. It has opened branches in Dakar, Casablanca, Paris, New York and London to support a new generation of women concerned about the fate of Africa.
