African Migrants Found Hidden in Car Dashboards at Spain-Morocco Border

The Spanish police reported the discovery of three African migrants hidden under the dashboards and behind the seats of three cars. This was last Friday, at the border between Morocco and Spain, during a search.

A constant concern, the phenomenon of illegal immigration reveals every day to the world the ways and means as unimaginable as improbable used by smugglers and unfortunate candidates determined to emigrate.

During a routine search, the Spanish police elements discover three sub-Saharan young people hidden in three different vehicles driven by Moroccans. According to the press release, "two migrants had curled up in tiny spaces arranged under the dashboards and the third in a compartment behind the rear seat of one of the vehicles".

According to the initial diagnoses carried out, the three young migrants (a 15-year-old girl and two 20 and 21-year-old young men) show "symptoms of asphyxiation, disorientation and generalized joint pain due to the horrible conditions in which they were traveling". The press release also specifies that "the police arrested the three drivers, all Moroccans, aged 19 to 31, suspected of human trafficking".

The only land borders of the European Union in Africa, the Spanish enclaves of Melilla and Ceuta are stormed every day and are often used as an entry point into Europe by African migrants. The latter "usually try to climb the gigantic fences installed along the border, or to follow the coast by swimming," the press release points out.
