AFCON 2023: Morocco to Face Egypt in High-Stakes Quarter-Final Clash

The Moroccan national football team will face the Egyptian team next Sunday in the quarter-finals of the Africa Cup of Nations. The Carthage Eagles painfully snatched the victory against the Elephants of Côte d’Ivoire.
The Atlas Lions now know the name of their opponent in the quarter-finals of the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations. It is Egypt, which qualified on Wednesday, January 26 at the Japoma stadium in Douala.
Morocco had qualified after beating Malawi (2-1) on Tuesday, thanks to goals scored by Youssef En-nesyri and Achraf Hakimi. The match between the two teams will be held on Sunday, January 30 at the Omnisport Paul Biya stadium in Olembé, starting at 4 p.m. (Moroccan time).
Given the stampede that occurred at this stadium earlier this week, the match may be relocated to the Ahmadou Ahidjo stadium in Yaoundé.
