Adient Expands in Morocco: Second Auto Parts Factory to Open in Kenitra

Two years after inaugurating its first factory in Morocco, the American Adient is preparing to launch the construction of a second industrial unit in Kenitra.
Called Adient Automotive Seating Maroc, the new structure has heavy responsibilities. It will have to launch a complementary activity of "design, manufacture and sale of interior products and systems for passenger cars and light trucks" as early as 2021. The decision to set up such a factory "confirms the hopes of a rapid recovery of the Moroccan automotive cluster, which was severely affected by the pandemic," reports challenge.ma.
With this new industrial unit in Morocco, the Adient group will now have its seventh factory in Africa. The group will have to cross, as early as 2020, "the bar of 500 employees in Morocco out of a total of more than 80,000 employees worldwide," the same source specifies.
