Adient Expands in Morocco: 600 New Auto Jobs, $72 Million Plant in Kenitra

The American equipment manufacturer Adient Automotive Seating, specialized in the manufacture of automotive seat covers, inaugurated on Wednesday a new unit in Kenitra, with 600 jobs in the pipeline, which will be doubled by 2025.
Built on a total area of 25,000 m² including 6,500 m² planned for expansion, this new plant required an investment of 72 million dirhams, according to a press release from the group.
In Morocco, Adient’s sales currently amount to $24 million, equipping more than 250,000 vehicles annually, particularly the PSA group brands, with a target of reaching $100 million and equipping 750,000 vehicles by 2025.
In the future, the group plans to launch a supplier ecosystem aimed at ensuring the development of the automotive value chain in Morocco and confirms its willingness to develop new activities in the Kingdom, including headrests and armrests. A memorandum of understanding has been signed in this regard with the supplier SAGE for a total investment of 78 million dirhams and the creation of 220 direct jobs.
Adient Automotive Seating also plans to create a technical and engineering center for seat covers in Morocco for product development and design. The first of its kind in the Kingdom, this technical center will generate 50 engineering positions, it is further stated.
