US Auto Parts Giant Adient to Expand Operations in Morocco Following Sahara Recognition

A few days after the announcement of the US recognition of the Moroccanness of the Sahara, the American equipment manufacturer Adient, world leader in the automotive seat segment, will sign, in Casablanca, a memorandum of understanding with the Moroccan government. This is the first in a series of announcements mentioned by the US Ambassador to Morocco, David Fisher.
The signing of this memorandum of understanding will take place in the presence of the Minister of Industry and Trade, Moulay Hafid Elalamy. No details have yet been given on the amount of the investment, but it will open the door to many others.
The Minister of Industry had moreover revealed that many American operators have expressed their willingness to invest in Morocco in general, and in the southern provinces in particular.
Adient has been established in Morocco since 2017, in the Atlantic Free Zone industrial zone, near Kenitra, through its first subsidiary on the African continent, Lamination Automotive Fabrics (LAF), recalls Le360.
