Accès Industrie returns to Morocco by buying back the company that acquired its former subsidiary
Eleven years after selling its Moroccan subsidiary Maroc Élévation to Atlas Rental, French group Accès Industrie is now buying Atlas Rental from Loxam. It’s a striking turn of events in Morocco’s construction equipment rental sector.

On June 30, 2015, Accès Industrie sold Maroc Élévation, its subsidiary specializing in the rental of aerial work platforms and lifting equipment. Founded in 2008, the company then had three branches, in Casablanca, Tangier and El Jadida, as well as a fleet of more than 200 machines. Its buyer, Atlas Rental, was 51% owned by France’s Loxam and 49% by Moroccan group Stokvis.
At the time, the sale was part of Accès Industrie’s withdrawal from its international activities. The group had already left Spain and Portugal in 2013. For Atlas Rental, which has operated in Morocco since 2011, the acquisition strengthened its construction equipment offering. Maroc Élévation was ultimately absorbed by its new owner in October 2015, as confirmed by the Loxam statement issued at the time of the transaction.
Eleven years later, the roles are reversed
On November 3, 2026, Loxam officially announced the sale of Atlas Rental to Accès Industrie. The deal, already completed, marks the French specialist in lifting and handling equipment rentals’ return to Morocco. The new buyer is taking control of the company that acquired and then absorbed its own subsidiary eleven years earlier.
In the meantime, Atlas Rental’s ownership had changed. In July 2023, Loxam bought the 49% stake held by Stokvis Nord Afrique, becoming the sole owner of the Moroccan company. It now operates mainly in Casablanca, serving construction and industrial companies.
The French group says it is selling because further investment is needed to develop Atlas Rental. Loxam now prefers to focus its resources on its European and Latin American markets, despite the strong performance of its Moroccan subsidiary.
Gérard Déprez, Loxam’s CEO, describes Atlas Rental as a “sound and profitable company.” He believes Accès Industrie can continue developing the business in Morocco while ensuring continuity for employees and customers. The French group is thus returning to the market it left in 2015, this time at the helm of the company that accompanied its departure.
