Ziyech Nears Morocco Scoring Record with Brace Against Gabon

Hakim Ziyech has once again shone in the jersey of the Atlas Lions. The Moroccan international scored a brace in the convincing victory over Gabon (4-1), gradually approaching a record.
This exceptional performance allows Ziyech to get a little closer to the very closed circle of Morocco’s all-time top scorers. With 25 goals in 63 caps, the former Chelsea player is now only two behind Salaheddine Bassir, the second top scorer of the Atlas Lions.
If Hakim Ziyech continues on this momentum, he could well inscribe his name in the record books of the greatest Moroccan forwards. For the record, it is Ahmed Faras who holds the record for goals scored in the national team with 36 goals.
Ziyech’s international career is marked by an impressive consistency. Since his debut in 2015, he has continued to confirm his talent and ability to make the difference on the pitch. His excellent vision of the game, his technique and his powerful shot make him one of the most formidable players on the African continent.
