Ziyech’s Goal Propels Galatasaray to 3-0 Win, Strengthens Title Hopes in Turkish Süper Lig

Moroccan international Hakim Ziyech shone once again in the Turkish Süper Lig, scoring a goal in Galatasaray’s 3-0 victory over Adana Demirspor on Friday evening, as part of the 34th matchday of the championship.
In a match dominated by the Istanbulites, but sterile in the first half, Ziyech unblocked the situation as soon as the players returned from the locker rooms (53rd minute). On a decisive pass from Belgian Dries Mertens, the Moroccan striker beat the opposing goalkeeper with a clear left-footed shot.
This goal set the tone for a prolific end to the match for Galatasaray. The Turkish-German Kerem Demirbay doubled his team’s lead in the 64th minute, before Argentine Mauro Icardi sealed the final score in stoppage time (90th minute + 1).
Thanks to this victory, Galatasaray consolidates its position as league leader, now with 93 points. A comfortable lead of seven points over its runner-up, Fenerbahçe, who face Besiktas, the fourth in the standings, this Saturday.
With four games left in the season, Galatasaray is inexorably approaching the Turkish championship title. With an impressive record of 30 games played, 29 wins, 1 loss and 0 draw, the Istanbul team seems well on its way to succeeding Trabzonspor, crowned last season.
