Zamalek FC Players, Including Moroccan Stars, Detained Amid Pay Dispute

Following a heated debate with the president of the Egyptian football club Zamalek, Mortada Mansour, the players, including 3 Moroccans, were prevented from leaving the headquarters.
Due to the club’s financial crisis, the starters are demanding salaries and performance bonuses for several months, in addition to the signing bonus, part of which has not yet been released.
Three Moroccan players are among the starters at Zamalek, including former Wydad Casablanca players Achraf Bencherki and Mohamed Ounajem, and international Khalid Boutayeb.
The media specify that when leaving the president’s office, the players were prevented from leaving by the security guards, who forbade them from leaving the headquarters.
