Young Moroccan-Dutch Man Dies After Food Poisoning in Nador
An 18-year-old from a Moroccan-Dutch family died in the Nador region after a family outing. Several relatives reportedly suffered from food poisoning. An autopsy has been ordered.
An 18-year-old MRE died in Morocco under circumstances still to be clarified. The tragedy occurred in the Tiztoutine region, in Nador province, where his family had just arrived for vacation.

According to initial reports from Zaio and Ariffino, the young man was part of a Moroccan-Dutch family who had recently arrived in Morocco. The day after their arrival, the group reportedly went to a tourist area nearby.
The family reportedly consumed tacos, which are very popular in Morocco, before several people experienced severe abdominal pain and began vomiting. The young man’s condition then rapidly deteriorated, with a sharp rise in his temperature.
Autopsy to Determine Cause
Rushed to the hospital, the young MRE died shortly after admission. No request for consular assistance had been received Tuesday by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs following this death.
In shock, the family went to the police in Al-Aroui, about fifteen kilometers from Tiztoutine, to file a complaint. An investigation was opened to determine the exact circumstances of the tragedy.

Blood samples were taken and a judicial autopsy was ordered. Investigators are particularly seeking to determine whether this is a case of food poisoning, but other medical causes have not yet been ruled out.
