World Cup 2030: Morocco prepares to strengthen its rail network

Morocco will launch in the coming weeks extension works of its rail network in the perspective of the 2030 World Cup that it is jointly organizing with Spain and Portugal.
In this context, RER express lines will be built in public-private partnership (PPP) in the Casablanca-Settat region at a total cost of around 1.1 billion dirhams. The works to be launched soon concern the line going from the Facultés station in Mohammedia to the Port of Casablanca, passing through the stations Mohammedia Ville, Zenata, Sidi Bernoussi and Ain Sebaâ. This line will be served by a train every 30 minutes.
Similarly, the "Facultés de Mohammedia-Nouaceur" line will be built, connecting the Facultés de Mohammedia station to the stations Mohammedia Ville - The new city of Zenata - Sidi Bernoussi - Ain Sebaâ - Hay Mohammadi - Dar Bouazza - Marsa Sultan - Casa OASIS - Casablanca Sud - Sidi Maarouf - Bouskoura - Nouaceur - Mohammed V Airport T1/T2. Like the previous one, this line will also be served by a train every 30 minutes.
The works also take into account the "Port of Casablanca-Nouaceur" line passing through the Hay Mohammadi station, the Casablanca stations, Marsa Sultan, OASIS station, Casablanca Sud, Sidi Maarouf, Bouskoura, and Nouaceur. The construction of the line connecting the Port of Casablanca to the El Jadida station via Mohammed V Airport (a train every 15 minutes), passing through the Casablanca station, is also planned.
In addition, the Casablanca-El Jadida line (a train every 30 minutes), passing through Bouskoura and Azemmour, will be built to strengthen the regional RER line network. Similarly, a Casablanca-Settat line (a train every 30 minutes), via Bouskoura and Berrechid (a train every hour), as well as a Casablanca-Khouribga / Oued Zem line (a train every hour) passing through Bouskoura, Berrechid and Sidi El Aidi, are expected.
