Women’s Off-Road Rally in Morocco Postponed Again Due to COVID-19 Concerns

The 30th edition of the famous Rallye Aïcha des Gazelles, exclusively reserved for women, and which takes place every year in Morocco, has been postponed again. The fault lies with the health crisis due to the Coronavirus.
The holding of this edition of the Rallye Aïcha des Gazelles was scheduled to take place in Morocco, from March 13 to 28, 2020, the organizers recall, specifying that given the critical health situation, the event had been postponed to September of the same year. However, Dominique Serra, and her team will have to postpone this rally from March 12 to 27 next. Despite this, in the face of the new development of the health crisis situation marked by the discovery of a new variant of the virus, the event has been postponed again.
On the event’s website, the founder and organizer of the Rallye Aïcha des Gazelles does not seem at all affected by the situation. Dominique Serra said that "my determination and that of my teams has not faltered". According to the boss of the event, "the March departure was our priority, but the announcements of Mr. Castex, and in particular the 7-day isolation after returning from abroad, the arrival of the variant and the possibility of a new confinement do not give us enough positive indicators to make a favorable decision to start in March today".
