Woman Sues Casablanca Over Vicious Stray Dog Attack, Citing City Negligence

A resident claiming to be a victim of a pack of stray dogs in the Lissasfa region has decided to take the Casablanca city hall to court.
My client "would have been in critical condition if it were not for divine grace, after being attacked by more than five dogs a few months ago," Daif Fattah, the victim’s lawyer, told Al Yaoum 24. Blaming the Casablanca municipality for not assuming its responsibility, she has decided to take it to court. According to her lawyer, she "still suffers from psychological complications following the serious incident to which she was exposed".
Reacting to the possible legal proceedings, Ahmed Miftah, a member of the Casablanca commune and vice-president of the Aïn Chock district, seems to be siding with the victim. He called on "Casa Environnement" to assume its responsibility and capture the stray dogs. A paid mission that the city has entrusted to this company.
The proliferation of stray dogs is a "major problem" that has existed since the previous term and "persists," said the elected official, noting that the phenomenon is increasing at night. To support his words, he talks about a young woman who was attacked by stray dogs in the Sidi Maarouf region. Faced with this gloomy picture, he calls for the dispatch of a specialized commission to monitor the stray dogs.
