Woman Abducted in Broad Daylight in Moroccan Town, Sparking Outrage

A woman was kidnapped by strangers in a car as she was going to the hammam in the town of Sidi Bennour, not far from El Jadida in the Casablanca-Settat region. The video of the kidnapping, posted on social media, has gone viral.
The victim, a resident of the Saâda neighborhood in Sidi Bennour, was kidnapped by individuals, one of whom was disguised as a woman and wore a mask. The latter allegedly forced the elderly woman to get into a light vehicle that sped off to an unknown destination.
The kidnappers were trying to get the victim to provide information about a large sum of money, estimated at several million dirhams, from the sale of a property. The funds would have been deposited in a bank account. With the help of accomplices, the suspects searched the victim’s home, hoping to find the money. Without success. After this unsuccessful attempt, they released the victim and fled.
The judicial police and the technical and scientific police of Sidi Bennour are conducting investigations to shed light on this case and arrest the suspects.
