What is the impact of the earthquake on travel to Morocco?

The main French tour operators have given travelers the possibility to postpone trips or cancel their departure free of charge until this Monday and then until September 20 due to airport constraints. What about the case of TUI Belgium customers?
Fewer cancellations of upcoming trips to Morocco have been recorded at TUI Belgium despite the violent earthquake that shook the country on Friday night and has already killed more than 2,860 people. This is the finding made by the tour operator on Monday, which also assures that it has not suffered any airport constraints, as the Marrakech airport has remained operational. Better, "None of our hotels have been damaged," notes Piet Demeyere, spokesperson for TUI to Belga. The tour operator therefore ensured Sunday’s flights to and from Zaventem as planned. "In this case, we have no reason to cancel a trip with our partners on site. Unfortunately, this implies cancellation fees of 100%," he explains.
TUI Belgium has recorded the cancellation of several excursions planned for this week. On Saturday, Morocco decreed three official days of mourning following the powerful earthquake that struck part of the kingdom. "As this is a case of force majeure, these excursions will of course be refunded," assures Piet Demeyere. The tour operator had 204 travelers in Marrakech and 227 in Agadir on the night of the earthquake. Evacuated for a safety check of the accommodations, they gradually returned there. The spokesperson will add that TUI Belgium is "in constant contact with Morocco and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs".
