Waste Management Firm Pizzorno Exits Marrakech Contract After 16 Years

The Pizzorno Environnement group through its subsidiary Téomara, which has been responsible since 2007 for waste collection and sanitation in the city of Marrakech, has just packed its bags.
In a press release, the group explained that this decision is part of the strategic plan implemented over the past three years. This is due to certain parameters related to the financial situation of Pizzorno Environnement’s Moroccan subsidiaries. Despite this difficulty, the company intends to fulfill the commitments made with the city of Marrakech. It has also promised to accompany its employees until the choice and installation of the new service provider.
According to the same source, the company is withdrawing from Marrakech but will continue its mission in Al Hoceima and Moulay Abdellah through its subsidiary Téomara, which employs 535 people. In 2019, it achieved a turnover estimated at 75 million dirhams.
