Walid Regragui not yet satisfied with his players

Despite Morocco’s crushing victory over Gabon (5-1) on Friday evening, Walid Regragui, the national coach, is not claiming victory.
"It’s a good win, but there’s still work to be done," he said in a press conference, keeping his feet on the ground despite the demonstration of force of his Atlas Lions.
While Regragui is pleased with his team’s reaction after conceding a goal at the start of the match ("We reacted like a great team"), he insists on the need to remain focused. "We want to finish first in the group and we will confirm it on Monday against Lesotho," he said, his eyes already fixed on the next challenge.
The coach of the Atlas Lions took advantage of this match to refine his strategy, particularly in defense. "It was an away game that we wanted to test. We had the right scenario of being behind to know how to react," he explained. It was also an opportunity to give playing time to the Aguerd-Harkass pair, with Mazraoui’s return.
With 15 points on the board, Morocco is leading group B of the 2025 CAN qualifiers. Gabon, despite the defeat, validates its qualification. Next appointment for the Atlas Lions: Monday against Lesotho at the Oujda Honor Stadium.
