Vox Party Accuses Morocco of "Economic Blackmail" Over Migrant Crisis at Spanish Borders

The Vox party has denounced "the economic blackmail and demographic pressure" of Morocco which "prepares and organizes the assaults at its convenience". It also accuses the Spanish government of not properly fulfilling its mission of protecting the borders.
Through the voice of its secretary general and Madrid deputy, Javier Ortega, Vox exposed, during the plenary session of Congress devoted to the massive migrant assaults on Melilla, what it considers to be "the ten lies of the Minister of the Interior, Fernando Grande Marlaska, regarding the protection of Spain’s borders".
According to the MP, "Ceuta and Melilla have been and will never be Moroccan" because one existed and was part of Spanish territory 541 years before Morocco, and the other 460 years before Morocco. Ortega also disagrees with the government, which considers the migrants to be peaceful refugees. "They are organized violent young people who attack with iron hooks, chains, iron bars..." he explained.
The far-right party deputy also believes that Morocco "does not cooperate" with Spain, but rather "prepares and organizes the assaults at its convenience". This is why he believes that the Spanish borders, particularly in Ceuta and Melilla, are not secure and that the deployed agents and equipment are insufficient. "They don’t have riot gear or protective vests..." he lamented.
"Ceuta and Melilla are not protected by NATO allies. When we made this proposal to Congress and the Senate, the government and its partners voted against," Ortega also added, stressing that illegal immigration is detrimental to Spain. "They don’t come to pay pensions, they don’t bring wealth," he insisted, calling for legal, controlled immigration. "It is urgent to act," said Ignacio Gil Lázaro, the Vox deputy from Valencia and fourth vice-president of Congress.
