Upon returning to Morocco, MREs discover their building is cracked

Complaints have multiplied in recent days to the pasha of Fnideq, with the summer return of many Moroccans residing abroad. The co-owners had already petitioned the governor of the M’diq-Fnideq prefecture.

The issue concerns a construction site intended for the building of a new structure. According to the complainants, the excavation work allegedly caused major cracks to appear in the neighboring residence.

A monitoring commission was supposed to visit the site to assess the damage and determine the measures needed to protect residents and their property. It reportedly has still not gone there.

According to Al Akhbar, the pasha also allegedly informed the co-owners that the construction site had been halted pending this visit.

The work would continue despite its suspension

The MREs nevertheless claim that construction is continuing as normal. They now fear that the continuation of the work will worsen the damage already observed in their residence.

The owners are calling for a prompt inspection of the building and the effective implementation of the announced suspension. Their concern relates as much to the deterioration of their apartments as to the safety of the people occupying the building.

They are now waiting for the commitments made by the authorities to be acted upon, while the neighboring construction site would reportedly continue despite their repeated complaints.
