Unauthorized ’Yellow Vest’ Parking Attendants Face Legal Action in Agadir, Morocco

While several parking lots are free in Agadir, individuals in yellow vests, acting as car guards, reign supreme on various streets. These are in the sights of the municipality, which intends to file a complaint against them.
Individuals in yellow vests have removed the signs indicating the free parking in a very busy parking lot, located at the Souk Al Ahad market in Agadir, in order to continue to charge parking fees and extort citizens, denounces Abdallah Boulghmair, third vice-president of the Municipal Council of the city, in a statement to Alyaoum24. "The municipality is in the process of filing a complaint against individuals who were seen in surveillance camera videos at the Souk Al Ahad market in Agadir, removing the signs indicating the free parking around the market, in opposition to the decisions of the council and with the aim of deceiving visitors to the city and collecting fees for parking their cars, although free parking has been announced," he said.
Boulghmair, however, specified that all the parking lots and parking spaces in the city of Agadir are free, with the exception of the Bijouan parking lot near the city’s corniche, as well as the locations on August 20 street, whose rental period has been extended in accordance with the laws in force on this subject.
