UAE Reopens Borders to Moroccan Residents and Other Foreign Visa Holders

The Emirati authorities have authorized Moroccans and other foreigners residing in the United Arab Emirates to return there. This decision comes into effect this Monday, June 1.
The Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship (ICA) of the United Arab Emirates has invited Moroccans and other foreigners holding a valid residence visa who wish to return to the United Arab Emirates to register for the "Entry Permit for Residents" service, via its website: smartservices.ica.gov.ae, reports Gulf Today.
What about the modalities? Interested persons must submit an online application to obtain an entry permit to the Emirates. The file will include a personal color photo, a copy of the residence visa, a copy of a valid passport and proof of the reason for staying abroad (a letter from the employer, the educational institution), a medical authorization or a plane ticket.
"Any person holding a valid visa can register on the dedicated website to obtain permits, but they should not book or purchase travel tickets and not travel before the approval of the return request," specifies the ICA, explaining that processing the request would take some time.
