Turkish Man’s Phone Number Mistakenly Aired in Moroccan TV Series, Sparking Harassment

A Turkish citizen from Ordu filed a complaint against the producer of "Yemin Al Waad", a TV series currently broadcast on the 2M channel and dubbed in Darija.
Erol D., a subscriber to one of the Turkish telecom operators, saw his phone number appear in one of the episodes of this series produced and directed in Turkey. This plan was then captured and shared on social media. Believing that it was the number of Cemre, one of the heroines of this series, many Moroccan fans called the number repeatedly. A harassment that comes to anger the subscriber.
"They think I’m the character in the TV series and continue to send me inappropriate messages and photos day and night," he told the Turkish newspaper Hurriyet Daily News. "I knew nothing about the TV series. After the messages and bad photos that bombarded my phone, there were problems between my wife and me," he confided.
He decided to file a complaint against the producer of Yemin Al Waad. His lawyer is claiming 18,000 dirhams in damages for the harm suffered.
