Trump Recognizes Morocco’s Claim to Western Sahara, Brokers Israel-Morocco Deal

The President of the United States, Donald Trump, has just signed an act recognizing Morocco’s sovereignty over Western Sahara. This signature comes less than a month before his departure from the White House.
In any case, this message will have the effect of a bomb within the Polisario, and even more so, its historical ally Algeria.
This recognition by the United States is paid for at a high price by Morocco, as Trump also announces the restoration of diplomatic relations between Morocco and Israel, a decision that will undoubtedly be heavily criticized in the Arab world and within the Moroccan political class.
Today I signed a proclamation recognizing Moroccan sovereignty over the Western Sahara. Morocco’s serious, credible, and realistic autonomy proposal is the ONLY basis for a just and lasting solution for enduring peace and prosperity!
Another HISTORIC breakthrough today! Our two GREAT friends Israel and the Kingdom of Morocco have agreed to full diplomatic relations - a massive breakthrough for peace in the Middle East!
