Transavia Resumes Paris-Dakhla Summer Flights Starting May 9

Monday 18 March 2019, by Said

The airline Transavia will resume flights between the cities of Paris and Dakhla for the summer season, which is due to start on May 9.

The announcement was made on the sidelines of the Crans Montana International Forum hosted annually by "the pearl of the desert" located in the south of the country. "Transavia will resume its flights for the summer season on May 9," say sources close to the company.

The Air France-KLM subsidiary had launched this route in October 2017 during the winter season before relaunching it the following year at the initiative of the Moroccan National Tourist Office (ONMT). The route "will ensure the accessibility of this destination to French and European tourists and will attract a more diverse clientele given that this global spot for kitesurfing is also a destination offering family and MICE products," explained Adel El Fakir, the CEO, last October.

Transavia is very active on the Moroccan destination with around 1.1 million passengers transported in 2017, an increase of 40% compared to 2016. In total, it operates 14 routes from Paris-Orly, Nantes and Lyon.
