Tragic Intersection Collision: Moroccan Motorcyclist Killed in Late-Night Ocala Crash

A young Moroccan riding a motorcycle died in a violent collision with a sedan near a very busy intersection in Ocala, Florida. An investigation is underway to determine the cause of the accident.
The accident occurred on Saturday morning. According to the Ocala Police Department, a motorcycle and a sedan collided at the intersection of Southwest 17th Street/Southwest 20th Court and State Road 200 in Ocala, reports 352today. Officers responded to the scene shortly after 2 a.m. The BMW motorcycle was traveling south on SW 20th Court when it entered the intersection, the investigators say, adding that at the same time, a Volkswagen sedan was traveling east on SR 200 and also entered the crosswalk. The two vehicles collided at the intersection, with the sedan hitting the side of the motorcycle, the same source specifies.
The motorcyclist, a 35-year-old Moroccan, was taken to HCA Florida Ocala Hospital. He will be declared dead. An investigation is underway to determine the cause of the accident. They are particularly trying to determine which driver had the right of way. The Ocala Police Department is asking anyone with information to contact them or submit an anonymous report through the Marion County Crime Stoppers.
