Tragic Collision: Teen on Electric Scooter Killed by Truck in Antwerp Region
The city of Willebroek, in the Antwerp region, was struck by a tragedy last Tuesday. Maissa Bouchaib, a 17-year-old girl, lost her life in a road accident. While on her way to her internship on an electric scooter, the Moroccan was hit by a truck.
Maissa’s school expressed its deep sadness at this news. The officials remember her as a caring and much-appreciated student, fulfilled and full of life. To pay tribute to the young Moroccan, a condolence register has been set up in her school, allowing her classmates to share their grief and support.
Maissa was in training to become a caregiver and aspired to a career in aesthetics. Her disappearance was a shock to her friends and classmates. Kanita, one of her friends, confided her pain following this tragic loss in an interview with Het Laatste Nieuws, saying she was having trouble realizing that Maissa is no longer with them.
To pay her a final tribute, family and friends gathered on Wednesday afternoon at the El Fath En Nassr Grand Mosque in Antwerp for the funeral prayer. Maissa will be buried in Morocco.
