Antwerp Police Release Images of Suspects in 11-Year-Old Girl’s Shooting Death

The Antwerp police have released images of two men suspected of being involved in the murder of Firdaous, an 11-year-old girl of Moroccan origin, shot dead on January 9, 2023 in Merksem.
On the evening of January 9, 2023, Firdaous was in the garage of her house, converted into a living space, when she was hit by debris from five bullets fired by an individual using a war weapon. The shooting could have been a mistake, the intended target being perhaps a drug dealer living in the same building.
The police are actively searching for two men seen in the neighborhood before and after the shooting:
• The first man: 20 to 30 years old, dark hair, light hooded long coat.
• The second man: Dark hair, light down jacket with hood, moving on a dark electric scooter with a white bag on the handlebars.
The police are also looking for a gray Peugeot 308 with black bodywork above the front right wheel.
Anyone recognizing the suspects or having information about the car is asked to contact the police at 0800-30.300 or via the police website.
