Tragedy Strikes Irish Delegation in Morocco: Diplomat Dies During Official Visit to Dakhla

An Irishman died on Friday in Dakhla. He was part of an Irish delegation on an official visit to Morocco as part of strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries and learning about the development projects underway in the region.
According to consistent sources, the Irishman died following a sudden crisis in the early hours of Friday morning. He was rushed to a private clinic in the city of Dakhla. Medical interventions in the intensive care unit were unable to save him. The deceased was among the members of the Irish delegation, led by Mary Flaherty, former Minister of Social Protection.
The purpose of the official visit of the Irish delegation is to learn about the ongoing development projects in Dakhla, as part of strengthening cooperation between Rabat and Dublin. On Wednesday, a delegation from the Association of Former Irish Parliamentarians learned, in Dakhla, about the development dynamics and the various structuring projects underway in the Dakhla-Oued Eddahab region at all levels, reports Al3omk.
A meeting between the Irish delegation and the Wali of the Dakhla-Oued Eddahab region, Governor of the Oued Eddahab province, Ali Khalil, was also initiated. On this occasion, the Moroccan official highlighted the strategic position of the region as a bridge linking Morocco to its African depth, while highlighting the various development projects underway in the region.
