’TOWIE’ Star Yazmin Oukhellou Reveals Accident Scar During Marrakech Recovery Trip

Towie star Yazmin Oukhellou has publicly displayed for the first time a scar on her arm that she was forced to "break" to escape the car accident that claimed a life. The victim was her boyfriend, Jake McLean.
Towie star Yazmin Oukhellou was seen in a hotel in Marrakech where she was enjoying the Moroccan sun in a black bikini, phone in hand. A scar on her arm was clearly visible. She chose the ochre city to get away and heal physically and psychologically after the accident she and her boyfriend Jake McLean were recently victims of. "I’ve come back to my second home after what I’ve been through and I’ve tried to refocus," she said.
For the 28-year-old star, healing is not a process that materializes overnight. "It takes time. Sometimes you’ll feel like you’re finally getting over something and being happy again, then the wound will reopen when you least expect it. Don’t give up, don’t get discouraged. Take each day one step at a time. Just try to be in a better mental, emotional and spiritual place than you were yesterday," she advised.
The accident occurred on July 3rd in Turkey. Yazmin Oukhellou survived, but her boyfriend Jake McLean died on the spot. "I could just feel my arm absolutely covered in blood. It was like I was lying in a hot bath, there was so much stuff around me. At the same time, I was trying to wake Jake up. In my head, I was like, ’OK, he’s just unconscious, I’m alive, so he must be alive,’" she had recounted to The Sun.
"I didn’t want to admit that he could be dead. So I thought, ’Well, I can either just lie still and bleed to death, or I can try and break my arm to try and save us - I didn’t have a choice. So I kind of broke my arm because of the pure adrenaline and panic. I got out of the car and I was somehow holding my arm with my left hand," she added.
