Top 3 Moroccan Banks Revealed: Study Shows Customer Preferences by Age Group

Moroccans have assessed their level of satisfaction with the banks operating in the territory and distinguished by their services and offerings. What were the results of this study and which are the best in 2021? Here are the details.

Large banks that are rated by their customers in a new study initiated by Sunergia, on the reputation of the best known banking institutions in Morocco in 2021.

In this game, three banking groups stood out, each according to the age categories. These are Banque Populaire (BP), Attijariwafa Bank and CIH Bank, which occupy the top three places in the choice of Moroccans.

In detail, Banque Populaire (BP) is more cited by men (40%), the elderly (77%), residents of the Northeast (39%), rural dwellers (38%), homemakers (41%), skilled (55%) and unskilled (61%) workers, retirees (70%), and the uneducated (54%). 35% of Moroccans cited Banque Populaire as the first bank that comes to mind. In addition, the bank is more cited by people aged 65 and over (77%) and retirees (70%).

As for Attijariwafa Bank, it is the favorite of 25-34 year olds (31%) and 45-54 year olds (38%), residents of the Southern region (30%) and the less educated (primary (33%) and college (31%)). It is the bank close to entrepreneurs and the study specifies that one in two entrepreneurs is 45 years of age and older (49.6%), 4 out of 10 are aged 30 to 44 (39.9%) while a tenth are under 29 (10.5%), and that 69.5% of entrepreneurs have no diploma.

As for CIH bank, it is the bank of the young according to Sunergia. Highly appreciated by young people aged 18 to 24 (24%), singles (21%), residents of the center of the kingdom (21%), students (30%) and people with a university degree Bac+2 (22%).

The rest of the ranking is occupied by BMCE in 4th position not far from CIH with 9% of citations, followed by Al Barid Bank (8%), Crédit du Maroc (3%), Crédit Agricole, BMCI and Société Générale which are at 2% each and in last position CFG (1%).
