Three Arrested in Fatal Shooting of Moroccan Man in Bolbec, France

After the shooting death of a 21-year-old Moroccan in Bolbec (Seine-Maritime), on June 9, 2021, three individuals were arrested, placed in custody, indicted and incarcerated. Among them, two brothers who are cousins of the victim.
The events had taken place in the parking lot of a small building in Bolbec, not far from the Fauquet hospital nursing home, rue Lechaptois, around 10:15 p.m. on June 9. While a 21-year-old Moroccan was in discussion with a person, a vehicle stopped and one of the occupants shot him in the head. He died on the spot. The alleged murderer, a married forty-something who runs a pizzeria in Goderville, and two other people suspected of being his accomplices were arrested on June 23.
"He had his skull completely shattered. Individuals fled," said the 36-year-old man who was discussing with the victim before the murder. He is not only one of the two witnesses to the crime but also the brother of the alleged perpetrator of this assassination. On June 9, the latter went to Bolbec at the wheel of his dark Peugeot 4007, reports Paris Normandie. "Go ahead, go ahead, shoot!" the victim allegedly told him. The forty-something would have pressed the trigger of a rifle lent by an acquaintance. Traces of gunpowder found on his clothes as well as organic matter from the deceased on his car confirm this theory.
The brother of the alleged murderer is an engineer, an employee in the oil industry, based in the Malaunay region, also the manager of a small commissioning and engineering company created more than a year ago and the father of two children. The reasons why he discussed with the victim, as well as the reasons for the cousin’s murder, remain unknown so far. He has been incarcerated since June 30. "He found himself in the wrong place at the wrong time. My client wanted to talk to his young cousin who had problems with his brother. He is traumatized. Everyone in jail? But it’s not that simple! My client is described as a very good person," his lawyer Valérie Giard pleaded before the judges of the chamber of instruction in Rouen, Wednesday, July 7, 2021.
"Coincidence, why not, but he is covering for his brother. He and his brother consulted, maybe badly consulted. But no, he wasn’t there at the wrong time in the wrong place. He has a taser on him, he tells his brother to leave, he’s not out of the loop. We don’t yet know why a man died. I ask for his continued detention," said François Pucheus. The engineer is being held in prison along with the other defendants. They will have to explain
