Man Shot Dead in Elevator During Ramadan Meal Visit in Vaulx-en-Velin

As he was heading to his parents’ home for the breaking of the fast, Karim was killed by a bullet to the head in Vaulx-en-Velin last Friday. A suspect was arrested and then taken into custody, and an investigation for murder has been opened.
The events took place in the elevator of the residence located at 2 chemin du Grand-Bois in Vaulx-en-Velin around 8:30 p.m. An individual killed with a bullet to the head a 42-year-old man who was going to his parents’ house for the breaking of the fast, reports Le Progrès. The quadragenarian was hit in the ear. Karim N. was taken care of in absolute emergency and transported to the Edouard-Herriot hospital in Lyon (3rd).
An investigation for murder has been opened and entrusted to the judicial police. According to the first elements of the investigation, the trail of a settling of scores is favored. the alleged murderer knew the victim’s habits. The latter was known to the justice system. In 2017, he had been implicated in a burglary in Switzerland. The following year, he is suspected of having participated in a kidnapping in an organized gang.
The judicial police investigators arrested a suspect in the evening, around 9:30 p.m., and placed him in police custody. It remains to be determined whether he is the author of the shot that rang out in the residence located at 2 chemin du Grand-Bois on Friday evening.
