An altercation that turns into a tragedy. In a press release, the Lyon prosecutor’s office said that two individuals were taken into custody after the death of a man thrown into the Rhône from a bridge in the city during the night of Saturday to Sunday. "At the end of the custody, two people will be referred tomorrow [this Saturday, editor’s note] to the public prosecutor’s office of the Lyon judicial court with a view to the opening of a judicial investigation on charges of voluntary homicide, for the first, and of non-prevention of a crime and non-assistance to a person in danger for the second," it specified.
The investigation and exploitation of the city’s video surveillance reveal that the events took place at 2 a.m. on the night of June 12 to 13, in the 7th arrondissement. It also indicated that the body of the victim had been found on June 16 in the Rhône. The victim would be a Moroccan homeless person.
The departmental security service has issued an appeal for witnesses to gather any useful testimony for the investigation.
