The canteen of a school was burgled in Ifrane. Office equipment and food products were stolen. The thief took advantage of the state of emergency to break into the school to commit his crime.
An individual suspected of stealing office equipment and food products was arrested by the royal gendarmerie last Sunday. The theft was committed in the canteen of a school located in Had Oued Ifrane. A large quantity of the stolen items was seized and the receiver, a grocer with whom the burglar had deposited the loot, was also arrested. The burglar and the receiving grocer were taken into custody, reports the daily Al Massae, which details that the thief took advantage of the confinement to commit his crime.
The arrest of the thief was facilitated by the information provided to the royal gendarmerie. The same source indicates that the burglar deposited his loot with the grocer, who immediately put it up for sale, thus making himself a receiver of stolen goods. Once arrested, the burglar confessed. He also revealed the identity of the grocer to whom he had sold the stolen equipment and products from the school.
Pending their appearance before the courts to be tried for burglary and receiving stolen goods, the burglar and the grocer are being held in custody. An investigation under the supervision of the public prosecutor’s office will determine the degree of responsibility of each of these two defendants.
