Textile Factory Owner Jailed After Deadly Incident in Tangier, Morocco

The owner of the textile industrial unit in Tanger where several people died on February 8 has been detained pending the completion of the investigation procedures. This is the decision of the public prosecutor near the court of first instance of the city.
"Following the investigation ordered by the Public Prosecutor’s Office to elucidate the circumstances of the death of several people in a textile industrial unit on February 8 in Tangier, the Public Prosecutor’s Office has filed a request to conduct an investigation against the owner of this unit and all those who may be involved in this incident, for involuntary manslaughter and injuries and violations of the Labor Code," says the public prosecutor near the court of first instance of Tangier in a statement.
After preliminary questioning, the investigating judge decided to imprison the owner of this industrial unit, pending the completion of the investigation procedures, the same source specifies. Adil Boulaili was de facto transferred this Wednesday, February 17, 2021 to the local prison of the city of the Strait. He is being prosecuted for involuntary manslaughter, involuntary injuries, violation of the provisions of the state of health emergency, opening a business without authorization, employment of minors and finally violation of health and safety conditions.
