Teenage Migrant’s Body Repatriated to Morocco After Fatal Ceuta Border Crossing Attempt

The body of the young Nawfal, who died while trying to cross Ceuta, was repatriated to Morocco to be buried there. After verifying his full identity, the local government authorized his transfer to Morocco.
According to local media, Nawfal was with several other young people who had tried to cross into Ceuta. He had arrived exhausted after crossing the sea, then was taken care of by two police officers who tried to revive him. In vain.
It was thanks to the intervention of a relative that Nawfal’s body was recognized and could be repatriated to Morocco to be buried there. According to the local press, this was not the first time the young teenager had tried to cross the border.
In recent days, several other people, including minors, have tried to cross into Ceuta by swimming despite the bad weather. Another young Sub-Saharan was also found dead in the night from Thursday to Friday.
