Moroccan Migrant’s Body Returned Home After Tragic Swim to Ceuta

The body of the young Nawfal, found on the shore in Ceuta at the beginning of the week as he was trying to reach the autonomous city by swimming from Morocco, has been repatriated to the kingdom, at the request of his parents.
The repatriation of the body of the young man, around 25 years old, was organized after all the formalities were completed. Nawfal and a friend were trying to reach Ceuta by swimming. Faced with the difficulty of the crossing, the friend turned back, but Nawfal preferred to continue his journey, ending up drowning a few hours later, reports El Faro de Ceuta.
The young man, who was training to be a hairdresser, left Morocco in search of a better future in order to help his father and his four brothers and sisters. The father lived from smuggling goods at the border, closed since 2019 due to the Covid-19 health crisis. His family will be able to bury him with dignity in Morocco.
Like Nawfal, many young people in search of a better life have lost their lives or disappeared at sea.
