Tangier Woman Sues City Hall Over Unsafe Sidewalk Hole

A woman from Tangier has brought a case before the administrative court to seek compensation after falling because of an unsecured hole on a sidewalk. The plaintiff alleges that the municipality failed to meet its obligation to maintain and secure public spaces in the Beni Makada district.

The incident occurred while the victim was walking on a sidewalk reserved for pedestrians, where she fell into an exposed concrete excavation. According to the case file, the hole had no protective barrier or warning sign, creating a danger for passersby, particularly during periods of heavy foot traffic.

The claimant believes that the municipality bears legal responsibility for service-related negligence. She argues that the city hall failed in its duty to ensure citizens’ safety by leaving this obstacle uncovered on public property.

The legal action seeks financial compensation for all the damages suffered.
