Tangier Police Arrest Three in Online Car Sale Fraud Scheme

The Prefectural Judicial Police Service of Tangier apprehended three individuals for their alleged involvement in cases of fraud and scams on the internet and issuing checks without provision.
According to a press release from the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN), the 3 individuals, aged 34 to 63, targeted citizens who were selling their car on electronic sites.
The suspects, who presented themselves under false identities, managed to conclude sales contracts with their victims, in exchange for checks without provision.
The press release adds that the identification operation revealed that the 3 individuals are the subject of national search warrants, for cases of fraud, scams, aggravated theft and issuing checks without provision.
The suspects were taken into custody at the disposal of the investigation conducted by the Public Prosecutor’s Office, in order to determine the circumstances of their criminal acts.
