Tangier Morocco Fall Lawsuit 65000 Dirhams Compensation

The administrative court of Tangier has ordered the municipality to compensate a woman who was injured after falling into an unprotected concrete pit. The compensation amount was set at 65,000 dirhams.

The accident occurred in the Ganboria area of Tangier. The victim was walking on a pedestrian passage when she fell into a pit that lacked a barrier, fence, or warning signage.

The fall caused her a left knee injury. After the accident, a medical certificate established a temporary incapacity of 90 days. A medical assessment ordered as part of the proceedings subsequently determined a permanent incapacity of 20%.

The first chamber of the administrative court rendered a first-instance judgment in the presence of the parties. It accepted the compensation claim and ordered the municipality of Tangier, represented by its legal representative, to pay 65,000 dirhams to the plaintiff.

The court, however, rejected the remaining claims and charged the court costs to the municipality.
