Tangier Airport Expansion: 7 Million Passengers Capacity
The National Airports Office (ONDA) launches expansion works on Tangier’s Ibn Battouta Airport. This strategic project aims to modernize infrastructure in response to the continuous increase in air traffic in northern Morocco.
To carry out this project estimated at 1.9 billion dirhams, a consortium of four companies has been selected. The operations include the construction of a new surface of approximately 55,000 square meters to be added to current facilities. This massive expansion will increase the platform’s capacity to accommodate nearly 7 million passengers per year.

This investment is part of a comprehensive national plan to modernize Moroccan airports according to international standards. The objective is to improve service quality, expand reception areas and facilitate user circulation. With this new logistics infrastructure, the city strengthens its position as the main air hub in the north of the country, in direct response to the region’s strong economic and tourism dynamics.
