Morocco Expands Agadir Airport to Double Passenger Capacity

The National Airports Office (ONDA) has launched a call for tenders for the extension and modernization of Agadir Al Massira Airport. The objective is to increase its capacity to 7 million passengers per year, nearly double its current attendance.
The work, divided into two lots, will focus on the expansion of the passenger terminal, which will increase to a total area of 75,000 m², as well as the development of the surrounding road infrastructure, including access roads and parking. Interested companies must submit their applications online by September 17.
This decision is part of a broader strategy to strengthen the Moroccan air sector. The Minister of Transport and Logistics has also announced the doubling of the capacity of the airports of Marrakech, Agadir and Tangier, in order to meet the growth of air traffic. By 2030, Morocco aims to welcome 80 million passengers per year, double its current capacity.
