Sword-Wielding Gang Attacks Infant Vaccination Center in Marrakech, Injuring Staff
The healthcare staff of a vaccination center for infants in Marrakech was attacked by a criminal gang armed with swords. Several professionals were injured to varying degrees.
Another attack in a health center, a few days after the warnings of the minister calling for the cessation of the violence and aggression suffered by doctors and other healthcare personnel in the exercise of their duties.
A message not understood by the individuals who, armed with swords, went to attack the people present in a health center in Marrakech, reports the daily Assabah, which points out that they were very agitated and seemed to be under the influence of drugs and other narcotics. In their rage, they injured a doctor and several nursing assistants as well as employees.
Thus, the staff and users only saved their lives by fleeing the scene of the attack. Alerted, the local authorities went to the scene to make the usual findings and collect the testimonies of the victims and the people who were present at the time of the attack. The police then took over and have already started their investigation to identify and arrest the attackers.
Still in shock from this attack, the population is torn between indignation and anger. As for the staff of the health center, still traumatized by this bloody attack, they will need psychological support to recover from this fright, especially since it is not the first time that the health managers of the city have been confronted with such violence. Moreover, in a press release, the regional health department strongly condemned the recurrent attacks against professionals in this sector.
