Fiat to Produce New SUV Model at Moroccan Plant

"New Multipla". This is the name of the new and unique SUV that Fiat will produce this year in its Stellantis plant located in Kénitra, Morocco. This new model will likely replace the Tipo compact, in production since 2015 as well as the 500X. The latter will cease to be manufactured by the end of the year.

Designed on the "smart car" modular platform of the group, the "New Multipla" will share its technical base with the future Citroën C3 Aircross and Opel Crossland. Its length is approximately 4.40 m. This new model will be part of the compact SUV segment and will be available in thermal, micro-hybrid and electric powertrains, depending on the markets, it is specified. The vehicle will roll out of the factory by October 2025.

The Peugeot 208 and the Citroën Ami, Opel Rocks-e and Fiat Topolino electric quadricycles are already assembled at Stellantis. Fiat’s ambition for its Moroccan plant in Kénitra is to increase its production capacity to 400,000 vehicles per year by 2030, to which 50,000 quadricycles will be added. The group has released an investment of 300 million euros for this plant at the end of 2022.
