Fiat to Launch New SUV ’Pandissima’ in 2026, Production Slated for Morocco

Fiat is preparing for 2026 two SUVs including the Pandissima, a family model technically close to the Citroën C3 Aircross and Opel Frontera. It will be produced in Morocco.
Long nicknamed Multipla, this SUV will finally be renamed Pandissima. "Fiat will return to the C segment in 2026. We must have respect for the Multipla name. For Fiat, this name is a concept, a philosophy. A Fiat Multipla represents innovative solutions in terms of interior layout. [...] We will launch two new models with a traditional seating configuration: two in front and three in the second row. Therefore, they cannot be called Multipla," explained Olivier François, CEO of Fiat, to El Español.
"We haven’t decided on the name of the next model yet. Its code name is MegaPanda or GigaPanda but it won’t be a Panda, it will be a bigger animal. It will bear the name of an animal," the executive specified, before recently confiding to the Italian media Quattroruote that the SUV would be called Pandissima, which literally means "very big Panda". The Pandissima should be launched in mid-2026, at the same time as the fastback SUV, on the Smart Car platform in Kenitra, Morocco, we are told.
