Fiat Unveils Tris: Morocco-Made Three-Wheeler for Urban Mobility

Fiat has launched Tris, its first three-wheeled vehicle manufactured in Morocco. A versatile model designed to meet micro-transport needs.

This new vehicle is available in three versions: Flat Bed, Pick-Up, and Chassis Cab. The Tris is manufactured at the Stellantis plant in Kenitra, Morocco. "Tris is more than a new vehicle, it’s a breakthrough in how we envision urban mobility. Born from Italian creativity at the Centro Stile in Turin, it is designed for the realities of everyday life. As cities grow and the need for clean and accessible transport becomes more pressing, we saw an opportunity to offer something radically simple and deeply useful," said Olivier François, CEO of Fiat, as quoted by Auto Revista.

He continued: "Tris answers this call by offering self-employed workers, small businesses, and disadvantaged communities a cost-effective and emission-free tool to move forward. With its debut in the Middle East and Africa, Tris is ready to transform last-mile mobility and open new doors to economic development and social inclusion. And we believe its potential goes far beyond: Europe could be next, as this type of smart and sustainable solution speaks a universal language."

With its compact dimensions, electric powertrain, and adaptable design, the Tris stands out as an ideal solution for congested urban environments and rapidly growing areas. Manufactured in Morocco, it will be exported to major African and Middle Eastern markets. The Tris is accessible to all due to its affordable price, ease of use, and low operating costs. The vehicle’s design offers driving comfort, as it operates without a clutch or gearbox.

Powered by a 48-volt electric motor delivering 9 kW (maximum power) and a maximum torque of 45 Nm, Tris is capable of reaching a top speed of 45 km/h. It has a 6.9 kWh lithium-ion battery, offering a range of 90 km (WMTC). The 3.17-meter-long vehicle can be recharged with a standard 220V household outlet. Thanks to its integrated smart charging system, the vehicle can be recharged to 80% in just 3.5 hours.
