A 29-year-old man was arrested on Saturday by the judicial police elements of Marrakech. He is suspected of voluntary homicide with sequestration and mutilation.
The victim is a 23-year-old girl whose "decomposing body with her hands and feet tied" was found in "a sewage drainage canal", according to a statement from the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN). It was "the research and genetic expertise that allowed the identification of the victim", who according to the police, "lived in a state of vagrancy", reports MAP.
The suspect was taken into custody and made available for the preliminary investigation conducted under the supervision of the competent prosecutor’s office to determine the motives for this heinous crime, the same source said.
